“If you're looking for a good value for money hotel in a good location then this will suit your needs. We stayed here for a couple of nights and found our double room clean, well air-conditioned and comfortable. Ok, it's not a 4-star hotel but is modern and was one of the best of the places we stayed in Vietnam around this price range. The staffs were also friendly. Location wise it's prefect for the old quarter, tailors and some great restaurants. Couldn't fault it.”

“We stayed in a double room for two nights in June 2007 as part of a tour through Vietnam. Our room was clean, in good condition, with air conditioner, television, and a decent bathroom. Overall the value was excellent (I believe the price was under USD$15/night, although it was included as part of our tour). We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the location good (a short walk to the main part of town). There are also computers for checking the Internet, which were free if used for short periods of time. Right outside the hotel were vendors selling drinks, snacks, and renting bicycles and motorbikes. I would definitely recommend renting a bicycle for getting around town and to the nearby beach (about $1.25 a day to rent). The hotel does also have a small pool, although it's basically an indoor pool in the lobby area and best for just a quick dip to cool off (not the kind of pool where you'd want to lay around and read or sunbathe). We spent about two weeks traveling in Vietnam, and (although not a 4 or 5 star hotel) the Dong Khanh was the best value of all the hotels we stayed in. Definitely recommended if you're looking for an inexpensive, clean budget hotel in Hoi An.”

“This hotel is located a short walk from the old quarter. We paid about US$15 per night for a triple room. The room was large and clean with decent beds. There was also airconditioning. The bathroom had been recently renovated and had a large bathtub. The staff at Dong Khanh were very friendly. They let us use the internet for free a number of times as we were only checking our bank balance. There are a number of very good restaurants just outside and everyone was very friendly. There are plenty of tailors nearby. There is no lift up to the room, but we were on the first floor so it wasn't too bad. There is a nice pool located in a courtyard. The hotel itself has a charm about it, with a large twisting staircase coming up from the foyer. The hotel is not the Ritz, but for US$15 a night there was nothing to complain about.”
